((ooc: i'm so sorry that took a while, i had a really busy few days))
Mia clucked as she worked with Morana. "Phoenix burn, you say? That shouldn't be too hard to fix." She dampened a rag with a funny-smelling potion as she talked. "Alright, this will sting a little bit." She pressed the rag to Morana's hand, and the burn began to turn pink rather than red. It slowly became flesh-colored, and was healed. "It'll be a bit sensitive for a few hours, but not too long. Now lets see about those cuts," Mia said as she examined Morana from head to toe. She pressed her wand to each of the tiny cuts, and they healed up instantly. As she worked, Mia rattled on about the danger to the champions. "These tournaments are a nurse's worst nightmare, honestly. All you kids running around with all these creatures, and fire, it's just not safe. Although I doubt anything I say would make a difference.........." Mia prodded the last of Morana's wounds, healing it, then stood up satisfactorily. "Well, that's you done, dear."
Mia turned to the other girl, Colleen. "Dear, you're not terribly hurt, are you? It looks just like a few scratches to me, but not much worse. You didn't get hit by a spell or anything?"

Pearl applauded all the champions. Each of them had done exceptionally well. She smiled as she made her way down the steps. She nodded to the champions. "You did exceptionally well." She told them, then swept off back towards the castle.

He watched Morana's run through the QWT maze intently from the safety of the courtyard. She was the first of the champions to begin, and Damon though that was an advantage for Slytherin, because her task should have been easier. He didn't think that the QWT was going to easy in any regard, but since she was first to compete, he thought she might have a less difficult run...possibly. He silently wished her good luck when she took off on her broom and entered the maze. He was very concerned for her well being, and he winced while thinking of the difficult tasks that lay before her. His thoughts were focused on one thing alone- Morana's safety. I do hope she makes it though this without serious injury. He thought with deep concern etched into his features. When she came across the phoenix, he thought she'd not have much difficulty with this part of the task. However, when she burned her hand and lost her wand, his heart caught in his throat. He was about to apparate and interfere when she caught fire, but she acted quickly putting herself out. His tensed muscles relaxed when she was able to continue and he let out a relieved sigh. He continued to watch her progress through the maze with wild eyed enthusiasm. He knew Morana's strength wouldn't falter, and her quickly thinking and remarkable talent cemented the fact that she was in fact the best choice for champion. His eyes grew wide with surprise and he cursed when he saw the angry chimera pop out of nowhere, [shadow=red,left,300]"Christ! Did you see that?!" [/shadow]He asked no one in particular while grimacing. He was able to breathe deeply once again when she used a flash bomb on the creature. He smiled and laughed at the utter brilliance of the tactic, and he shouted. [shadow=red,left,300]"Nicely done, Morana!" [/shadow]He watched with wide fearful eyes and a fist sized lump in his throat as she was port-keyed and finally made it out of the maze altogether. She seemed to be void of serious injury, but she was without the jean jacket she had started out the task with, and she seemed rather tired.
He watched as she was tackled by Lizabeth and he let out a small laugh, and smiled. He was quite proud of Morana, the wide toothy smile and the sparkle in his large sapphire eyes would have spoken for themselves. Damon thought she must be quite thirsty after that ordeal, so he searched the courtyard for a refreshment table. His sharp eyes scanned through the sea of spectators and finally landed on a long oak table in front of the judges bearing refreshments. He strode over to the table and scooped up a cup of ice cold water ad rushed over to the tent to congratulate his champion on her successful run through the maze.
Damon's long strides took him to the wide entrance of the cloth tent. He reached forward parting the tent flaps without spilling a drop of the water he ducked through. He spotted a few others within the tent besides Morana, he smiled at the other champion Colleen and nodded, [shadow=red,left,300]"Congrats, nicely done." [/shadow]He said in a meaningful tone. He walked over to the area where Morana was being treated by a nurse for the burns on her hand. He approached her with a wide smile on his lips and a glimmer in his dark blue eyes. He reached out his hand offering her the goblet of ice water, [shadow=red,left,300]"I'd thought you'd like a cold drink."[/shadow] Damon said thoughtfully. He turned and set himself down gently beside her. Swiveling his head on his muscular neck, Damon settled his sapphire eyes into her pale blue orbs and he spoke from the heart, [shadow=red,left,300]"Morana, you were amazing out there." [/shadow]He smirked playfully and added, [shadow=red,left,300]"And that little trick with the flash bomb was brilliant."[/shadow]

Morana looked up as Damon entered, congratulating the champions and her before handing her a drink.
"Thanks.", she replied gratefully, taking a few sips.
She watched the nurse get down to business, obeying her orders to make the job easier. Shortly after, she was done.
Testing her newly healed hand by opening and closing it, Morana smiled and exclaimed "Thanks, Doc! You're a life-saver!", before standing up and stretching her body.
She then turned to Damon and said "Well, I'm heading out. You can come if you like. And thanks again for the drink, it was exactly what I needed."
Thanking a professor who offered her congratulations, Morana headed toward the exit, already feeling too stuffed up with all of the spectators filing in.
She walked outside, taking in a deep breath of clean, smoke-free air while searching for the Judge's Table, her last stop of the day. She was exhausted, and the only thing she wanted to do now was sleep the rest of the day away.
Finally finding it wedged between a throng of people, Morana gave a polite nod to the judges and stood nearby, eager for the announcement of the scores.

"Nice to meet you, Aireona. And thank you for the support. I really appreciate it. Right now I'm doing pretty well - a lot better since I got out of the maze! Yeah, it was really terrifying being in there but I'm glad it's over." Colleen smiled at Aireona, glad to have someone to talk to right now.
Just then, the nurse finished fixing Morana up and asked Colleen if she was hurt. "No, I guess I'm OK physically. I'm just a bit shaken up - it was pretty scary in that maze. Thank you, anyway - you made me feel a bit better just by reassuring me." Colleen managed an awkward laugh. It was all in her head - she knew she wasn't really that hurt, but she needed to hear it from someone else.
Taking a deep breath, she once again smiled at Aireona. "Thanks again. I really enjoyed talking to you. Hope to see you around!" Exiting the champions tent, she found Chris waiting for her just outside. "Chris!" She ran over to him and gave him a huge hug - she just needed him to hold her right now.

(OOC: I'm not going to wait for Hitoshi any longer - even if he gives Mai a 10 it won't change the placements, so I'm announcing them now.) With her fellow Quad-Wizard Tournament Judges giving their final scores for the champions, Jill tallied up the results. Using the Sonorus charm one last time, she spoke. "Attention everyone! The results are in. First place goes to Morana Neus of Slytherin! In second place is Josi Sky Emrald of Gryffindor, followed by Colleen Marie Hadley of Hufflepuff in third. Mai Gamit of Ravenclaw takes fourth place for now, but remember that this is only the first task and the placements could change with the next one. I think all of our champions did a wonderful job today and I'd like to thank everyone who came out here to support them today as well." (OOC: The individual scores for each champion can be found here.)

Morana watched the Judges intently, and when the Headmistress raised her wand to her throat, Morana's heart began began to quicken its pace and the butterflies returned to her stomach.
The Headmistress spent no time announcing the scores, via Sonorus Charm:
"Attention everyone! The results are in. First place goes to-" (Morana held her breath) "-Morana Neus of Slytherin!"
At this, point, Morana stopped listening, stunned into frozen state: she was positive that Colleen or Mai would win, since those two came out the least scathed (even though she was first)...
Once the surprise wore off, Morana began to breathe once again and smiled meekly, tuning back in.
"...I think all of our champions did a wonderful job today and I'd like to thank everyone who came out here to support them today as well."
Since all was said and done, Morana, who was smiling wider now, began to sneak away to the castle, just about ready to hit the sack. Celebrating (for her at least (unless disturbed)), could wait for tomorrow.
