*Claire smiled as Mai and Rei talked and kissed. They really were adorable, the way he cared for her so much and she counted on him as her strength. She sighed happily.*
This is better than any romance I could read.

Mai was about to respond to Rei, when she heard the cute, yet odd comment from Claire, she slightly chuckled at it, "Thank you Claire. I'm not sure if I was supposed to hear that, but still, it was very sweet." She turned her face back to the direction of Rei and remembered his question, "There is no score yet. The tournament has yet to start." she smiled glad he was there.

"Mai, seriously, don't think about scoring, you know that. Think of it like Quidditch; you have one goal, and nothing else to worry about. I mean, do you really think about the score, or do you think about that next quaffle coming your way? You'll do fine, believe me. We all have faith in you. Besides, Sarah and I will keep you from missing out on your wedding, nothing gonna happen to you." He smiled aroudn and took a breath.
"And now that Rei is here, we can all have a seat, when he's ready. Claire, care to join us?"

I don't even know, Lydia smiled at his answer. Yeah, let's go sit down. She turned her head to the few people that were talking, "We're going to sit down, I'll see you guys later!" she informed them and gave them a friendly smile. When Lydia turned around, she felt a warm hand on her lower back pushing her lightly towards a seat. Her heart skipped a beat at the presence of DeAngelo's hand on her back.
Lydia followed the lead of DLo's hand to a seat. Once she got to a seat that looked quite good she turned just her head to him, "This look good?" she asked and flashed him a warm smile. What next? She pushed thoe thought out of her head and kept her focus on DLo as she waited for his response.

Surprised, Damon flinched, and withdrew slightly with a frown plastered to his soft lips from the stern, scandalized look that appeared on her face and the words that came afterward when she had answered his question. Damon didn’t quite expect the response he had gotten from her and the surprise etched into his features would have been quite amusing to behold. [shadow=red,left,300]“Umm…”[/shadow] Damon stammered, not quite sure how to respond, but he was saved when she grinned, admitting her fear. Damon wiped his forehead with the back of his hand in mock relief - then smirked playfully, she had saved him from looking foolish, perhaps if only by a small margin. With that trademark playful smirk still cemented on his face, and a devilish look in his dark sapphire eyes -Damon listened intently as she confided in him with her feelings. He noticed a sudden flustered look appear on her face - that lingered for a moment, he thought it was perhaps his smirk that caused it, so he quickly changed his expression to a warm reassuring smile. However, when she smirked at him, he was a bit confused, but he kept his inviting smile firmly in place nonetheless, and his inviting sapphire gaze was firmly locked on her pale blue eyes as he continued to listen to her. Damon thought hard about how to respond to her last question, he wanted to reassure her that she was indeed the best choice for the QWT, and boost her confidence if he was able to. He ran his fingers through his silky raven black hair – causing it to spill about his head unevenly in his usual mussed style, he then took a deep breath and swallowed before he replied in a reassuring tone. [shadow=red,left,300]“Morana, you were, and are the best candidate for the QWT. I have complete faith in your ability, and so should you, you’re a very talented witch. If anyone should be nervous, or frightened, it should be your competition.”[/shadow] Damon shot a quick glance over at the other QWT champions and waved his hand in their direction, before returning his gentle gaze to Morana. [shadow=red,left,300]“Know this, I will stand firmly beside you in this contest, you have my support - my champion.”[/shadow] Damon fixed his brightest smile on his face while his sincere words rolled off his tongue. Noticing that Damon was pondering his answer, Morana dropped the "Trademark Neus Smirk" that she reserved to people she didn't know or did not know well (like the 99% of the people there), and rubbed her cheeks. The "Trademark Neus Glare, "Neus Death Glare", and "Neus Scowl" would come later as the students of the other houses booed her, which was bound to happen. She was too nervous to do those now anyway. Before she returned her attention to Damon, however, the voice of Professor Malfoy wished her luck, followed by her presence. "Thank you, Professor. I'll do my best." Morana replied, giving her a respectful nod of her head. When asked about the Headmistress, Morana turned her sights toward the Judge's Table, where she had seen her last. "The last time I saw her, she was near the Judge's Table. You should probably try there." Giving the professor a polite smile, Morana looked towards Damon, who had finally seemed to settle on a answer. “Morana, you were, and are the best candidate for the QWT. I have complete faith in your ability, and so should you, you’re a very talented witch. If anyone should be nervous, or frightened, it should be your competition. "Know this, I will stand firmly beside you in this contest, you have my support - my champion.” Damon's smile was infectious; before she knew it, Morana was smiling too. Not a smirk, or even a fake smile. A rare, true smile. "Thank you Damon. That's just what I needed to hear." Her fear diminished and slowly beginning to relax, Morana gave him a hug. "Well, I'll do my best to make Slytherin proud." She said in a sigh as she released her hug and looked up to him, a grin settled on her face.

Aaralyn rolled out of bed this morning, for she forgot that today was the first QWT task. She was about to put on a pair of sweats when she looked at her calendar which had FIRST QWT TASK!!! written on todays date. Oh crap! she thought and glanced at the clock. "It's so late! Did I miss it??" she asked herself quietly. She pulled on her "Slytherin pride" clothes. It consisted of a black long sleeved shirt, a green skirt, silver fishnet tights, green leg warmers, and her black converses. On top of her muggle clothing, she wore her black coat, and Slytherin scarf. Maybe this is a little over done... she thought as she looked in the mirror. Oh well, I don't have time to change... she thought as she dashed out of the dormitory.
Wait... where is the competition?? she thought and then decided to check in at the Great Hall when she grabbed her breakfast. There was no one in the Great Hall, but she grabbed a plain bagel and spread cream cheese over it quickly just before all the food was cleared off the tables. Aaralyn looked around the school and finally looked out the window and saw that everyone was out at the courtyard. Okay.. let's hurry up Miss Keigwin! she thought as she sped through the hallways. Screw this! she thought as she finished up her bagel. Aaralyn double checked that no one was looking and she changed into her animagi form, a snow leopard. In her animagi form she could run much faster.
Finally, she made it to the exit of the school that led out to the courtyard. She changed back into her normal form. She drew in a deep breath and opened the door. It's coldd.... She fought her way through the sea of people looking around for someone she knew. Some people stared at her outrageous outfit, but she just glared at them and ignored the snickering. Don't they have anything else better to do? she thought annoyed. Finally, she saw a Slytheirn with raven hair. Damon. she smiled and came up next to him. "Hey!" she exclaimed.
Aaralyn noticed that the Slytherin QWT champion was standing there too, Morana. "Oh hi, I'm Aaralyn. Good luck today! I'll be cheering for you," she told the Slytherin. She smiled slightly and stuck her hands in her pockets because they began to turn pink from the cold.

"This look good?"
DLo looked down at the seats and their placement. Fine with them he shrugged one shoulder, "Yea, t's coo'."
He let her sit first before taking his. He took the end of his GI scarf and flung it over his left shoulder so that it wrapped around his neck once. He was possibly the only Gryffindor who didn't wear his Blood scarf. For those were only cotton, while the olive drab green one issued by the US Army was made of wool, much warmer. He never wore the scarf he had to buy from the school. He'd have much rather not bought it. But it was required. It sat in the bottom of his foot-locker. Man, this thing is wonderful. I don't know what I'd do without this.
He found himself looking around again, getting perhaps a little impatient, "When's this deal supposed to start? Dam. Com'on." He said, some his gangsta roots could be heard in his voice.

Mai smiled, she really did not know what else to do. There was nothing left to say about it. She hugged Rei and gave him a kiss on the cheek, "I love you." she smiled at her friends thanking them without words for their support. "I'm just going to go be by myself for a bit, just to get my head straight. Plus Iwant you guys in the front row, so go get some good seats." She chuckled, wanting to clear her mind.

Morana’s true smile brought a brighter smile to Damon’s soft lips. He received her warm frame gently - cradling her in his strong arms. Her denim jacket crunched against his leather trench coat with a slight creak, when she slowly released her embrace, his dark sapphire gaze fell upon her eyes once again. [shadow=red,left,300]“I’ve meant every word, Morana. And I’ve no doubt that you will indeed make Slytherin proud.” [/shadow]Damon said reassuringly while firmly holding his bright smile in place.
He then folded his mirrored sunglasses into their leather case and placed them into the large side pocket of his trench coat. Damon raised both hands to tug the long wide collar of his coat upwards to cover his neck, and shivered. Only the shiver was not from the cold that brushed upon his exposed skin, it was indeed Morana’s touch that brought the pleasurable shudder through him. He inclined his thin eyebrow in jest as he commented teasingly, [shadow=red,left,300]“I can’t believe there are no males in this contest. The goblet of fire is probably sexist, or something.” [/shadow]Damon winked at her indicating playfulness.
Damon almost jumped out of his boots when he heard Aaralyn’s voice come from behind him. He set his dark sapphire gaze upon her eyes and smiled. When he witnessed her slight shiver from the cool breeze swirling about the courtyard, Damon removed his jacket and placed it about her shoulders. He then draped a strong around her shoulders and planted a small kiss on her lips.[shadow=red,left,300] “Hey, love.” [/shadow]Damon said happily while smiling at her lovingly.

Mai smiled as they left. Waving at then when they screamed her name. Instead of going bac kto her previous feeling of foreboding, she decided to run a few spells, attacks, wand movements, plans and hexes over in her head. Anything that would come in handy for any situation. She stood in a corner and waited for the beggining of the Tournament. She kept verting her eyes towards Rei to watch him, he was fun to look at when he was not so close. She smiled.

((I was actually considering not putting this up, but if you can stand reading a long, angst-y post, then by all means, read on. If not, then don't bother and/or skip to the next person's post. Thank you for your time.)) Morana sat in silence for a while until Damon joked about the Goblet being sexist, to which she replied jokingly "Of course! Women add more drama to the situation. Makes things more interesting..." Just then, a pretty girl with Black hair and red eyes approached them, hailing Damon and introducing herself to Morana as Aaralyn. "Pleasure to meet you Aaralyn, and thank you for your kind words." Noticing movement out of the corner of her eye, Morana looked back to Damon, who had pulled off his jacket and gave it to Aaralyn, then kissed her. Morana watched on, frozen. 'Oh... Oh.'It was strange: her body still had the appearance of the true happiness that she was feeling before, but on the inside, she felt hollow. It was as if her mind had had cleared of all thoughts and stopped, frozen in the moment. 'I should've known...' she finally thought, the first out of a jumble that floated in her mind. Body finally reacting, Morana gave them a kind smile and said playfully "Damon! You never told me that you have captured the heart of a fair lady. Some friend you are..." 'I'm a fool.' Turning to Aaralyn, she said "You're a lucky girl. He's quite the charmer he is... one of a kind." 'Too good to be true...' "I'll just excuse myself and find out what's taking so long while you two do your thing. See you guys later!" 'What is this feeling?' "And I expect a party for me when I get back after getting the top score in the First Task, so don't leave me hangin'!" At that moment, the only thing she could think was 'Don't cry, don't cry don't cry' as she walked away, until she reached the judge's table. Suddenly, a line from a movie long forgotten flashed in her mind: 'My heart is breaking...'
It was then that it she finally realized why she suffered so.
'I was in love with him.' Which made the situation more hopeless than it was. Taking a deep breath and closing her eyes to make the stinging go away, Morana leaned against the table, waiting for the pain to pass. It didn't; which made her angrier at herself. Snapping her eyes open, her face dark, pupils slitted and expression overall cold, she muttered "No. Never again.", before searching for the Headmistress. ((Bleh... On a broader note: Sorry for taking so much space, everyone! ;D))

((ooc: I'm so sorry Morana!! ))
Aaralyn chuckled as she noticed she seemed to have startled Damon. "Oh I'm sorry, didn't mean to scare you," she said and returned his smile with her own. Aaralyn turned her attention back to Morana's as she spoke. Pleasure to meet you Aaralyn, and thank you for your kind words. Aaralyn just gave Morana a slight nod and a warm smile.
When Aaralyn shivered, Damon took his coat and put it around her fragile shoulders. "You sure I can wear this? I mean, then you'll be cold," she asked him. Before he answered, she felt his muscular arm around her shoulders and she looked up at him with a warm smile. He had leaned in for a kiss and Aaralyn kissed him back on his soft lips. Hey, love. She smiled, "How are you?" she asked sweetly looking at his nice smile that adorned his facial features. He seemed so happy and she was too. She heard a few yells around her and people just cheering for their champion although the task hadn't started yet.
She turned back to Morana so she didn't exclude her from their conversation and noticed she hadn't moved for a moment. Hm.. is she okay? she thought with a slightly concerned look on her face. Finally, the other Slytherin female began to speak again. Damon! You never told me that you have captured the heart of a fair lady. Some friend you are... A smile crept across Aaralyn's face at Morana's comment towards Damon. You're a lucky girl. He's quite the charmer he is... one of a kind. She nodded, "I know. I haven't ever met anyone as wonderful as him," Aaralyn responded and looked up into Damon's sapphire eyes.
I'll just excuse myself and find out what's taking so long while you two do your thing. See you guys later! And I expect a party for me when I get back after getting the top score in the First Task, so don't leave me hangin'! Aaralyn smiled slightly at Morana's words, "Oh we'll have a party, don't worry!" she replied as she watched Morana walk away.
"She seemed really tense, probably stress from the task," Aaralyn commented. "What have you been up to lately Mr. Darkweather?" she added playfully and gazed into his eyes. Aaralyn felt a cold piece of silver hit her chest under her shirt and she pulled the ring on a chain out of her shirt. She fiddled with the ring, slipping it on and off her thumb as she awaited Damon's response.

Mareyn walked into the Hogwarts Courtyard, smile on her face and tail flicking happily. She was going to keep watch on the Tournament, to avoid a Dark situation like that of Harry Potter's ordeal. She was the closest Auror to Hogwarts, living in the forest, so she took on the job. If anything happened, Mareyn would be there to make it all right. In the meantime, she wandered around, talking to people and such, until she saw someone familiar. Morana, that girl she had met in Diagon Alley, was talking to two other people. She looked a bit upset. Mareyn wandered over, to see if there was anything you can do. "Morana, are you okay? You look kinda upset." Mareyn's eyes lost their sparkle, taking on a look of pure concern. "I hope you'll be alright for the Tournament, yes? I'm told you're the Slytherin champion. Congratulations."

Jill watched as the crowd grew larger and larger. She was pleased to see so many students out here in support of their champions. She watched as the Hufflepuff Champion Colleen arrived, followed by the Slytherin Champion Morana, the Gryffindor Champion Josi, and the Ravenclaw Champion Mai. However, as Jill scanned the masses, she only found a few professors. The Headmistress sighed. She needed professors at the tournament to help supervise things and make things go smoothly, but she also needed the professors she had chosen to help judge the tournament to show up! She could tell that the crowd was getting restless and that they were all waiting for things to get started. I don't blame them - I was hoping to get things started sooner myself.Whispering the Sonorus spell once again, she decided to do what she could as she waited for more professors to arrive. "At this time, I would like to ask everyone who is not a champion or a professor to please take a seat so we can get a little more organized. I am still waiting for a few more professors to arrive. Right now, however, I will perform the traditional Weighing of the Wands. The Champions are allowed to have their wands with them during each of the four tasks, but before they can compete, I must check their wands to make sure they are working properly." Jill then turned to the four champions. "Colleen, Josi, Mai, and Morana - please hand me your wands." (OOC: I have professors who are interested in being a QWT Judge from each house except Hufflepuff! I really need a Hufflepuff QWT Judge! Are there any Hufflepuff Professors out there who would like to be a judge? Also, Christina Gabriela Clearwood - please feel free to interview the champions while I try to finalize the judges. So right now the scene should be similar to the Weighing of the Wands ceremony from the book: The Weighing of the Wands Before the champions could compete, their wands had to be checked by Mr. Ollivander in a short ceremony. He examined each wand and then cast a simple spell. Mai saw the Headmistress in the tented area they were all standing in, waiting for the Weighing of the Wands. Upon request of her wand, Mai pulled it from her pants elastic band and observed it for a moment. This was her wand. Her best friend. Her very power, centered. She didn't really like to let it out of her hands, feeling defenseless. She handed over her sixteen inches of handcrafted solid Lignum Vitae, with the essence of Dragon Whisker. She was very proud of such a wand, especially as she handed it to her Headmistress, watching the heaviness effect her hand. It was a wand crafted from the hardest and heaviest wood.

Colleen listened curiously as Professor Sparewell asked how she was feeling, still wondering why he was so concerned with her and not Josi. He wants to know how I'm feeling? How does he think I'm feeling - I'm about to start the first task of the Quad-Wizard Tournament! Despite the fact that she was a bit confused over Professor Sparewell's behavior, she mustered up a smile to answer him. "I'm feeling OK. I wish I knew what the first task was, but no matter what it is I'm going to try my best for Hufflepuff!" She tried her best to sound confident and conceal her apprehension.
As Colleen took another bite of the toast Chris had brought for her, Jacklyn came up to her and hugged her. Colleen smiled as she listened to Jacklyn's encouraging words. "Thanks, Jacklyn. I really needed to hear that."
Shortly afterward, Colleen spotted the Gryffindor Champion, Josi. "Hey Josi! Well, I can't believe the first task has finally come! It seems like just yesterday our names came out of the Goblet of Fire, right?" The blonde Hufflepuff Prefect smiled at her friend as she continued to wait for further instructions from the Headmistress.
A few minutes later, she saw the Ravenclaw Champion and Head Girl, Mai. She returned Mai's smile, but didn't say anything to her because it seemed that Mai was trying to stay completely focused on the tournament. I don't blame her - it's stressful for all of us champions.
A little bit later, a woman introduced herself to Colleen as Christina Gabriela Clearwood and shook her hand. The blonde Hufflepuff noticed that the woman seemed a bit pushy and only seemed interested in herself and the other champions. Christina had asked how Colleen felt about the tournament. Not used to being such a 'celebrity', Colleen just smiled. "Well, I'm feeling pretty good right now. I know there's a lot of people out there who are supporting me - especially the Hufflepuffs, and I plan to do my best and not let them down." She answered the woman's question and just tried to seem as calm and confident as possible.
Finally the Headmistress spoke again, asking the students who weren't competing in the tournament to take a seat. The Headmistress then started the Weighing of the Wands ceremony and asked for Colleen's wand. Smiling at the Headmistress, Colleen handed over her wand so that it could be checked.

George raised an eyebrow at the apparent Prophet reporter. He, too, remembered all too well another certain reporter who just loved to make a mess of things for her readers. "Can I help you?"
He turned back to Colleen, and saw Josi. "I just wanted to make sure, Colleen, if you need anything...but you're a very intelligent girl, you'll be fine. Josi, make your House proud. I must be up with the Headmistress. See you witches there."
He walked up to the Headmistress. See seemed tired. Very tired. Not surprising at all, considering. He too had been up thinking of the Tournament, as well as the state of affairs witht he Ministry. Oh well, lets get one thing out of the way.
"Professor Briarson, good to see you. What do you want me to do?"

"Well how are you feeling with such a task to be completed?"
This question is what Morana encountered in her search for the Headmistress, coming from an obnoxious-looking woman who shook her hand, as well as the hands of the other champions.
Hearing the Colleen and Mai's answer, Morana, who was now getting extremely annoyed at the task's lengthy start, simply said "Okay. Now if only it will start... I just want to get it over with."
Hearing a new voice, Morana whipped her head around angrily, but softened her look immediately when she noticed that it was Mareyn.
"Hello Mareyn. I could be better, but I think I'll be alright for the First task." she replied, forcing a smile.
"How had you been?"
Just then, Morana turned her head toward the judge's table and the Headmistress, whose voice boomed across the Courtyard, exclaiming "At this time, I would like to ask everyone who is not a champion or a professor to please take a seat so we can get a little more organized. I am still waiting for a few more professors to arrive. Right now, however, I will perform the traditional Weighing of the Wands. The Champions are allowed to have their wands with them during each of the four tasks, but before they can compete, I must check their wands to make sure they are working properly."
Returning her attention to Mareyn, Morana said "That sounds like my cue. Please excuse me."
Morana walked toward the table, and watched as Colleen and Mai handed them over.
Examining her own, she felt slightly uneasy giving it to someone else, even if that person was the Headmistress. The first rule Doyle had ever told her about handling a wand was to never give it up willingly: something she took to heart, for her wand was her first true possession, and it has saved her many a time.
She remembered the time she got it: in a hidden store in a dark, dank alleyway, from a reclusive, picky private seller her brother once did an odd job for in his early days of bounty hunting. Since the guy owed Doyle a favor, he thought that it was a good idea.
When she and the wand clicked, the old man, who had a look of crazed, perverse pride, described it to her: Ebony w/ Holly handle. Ebony: Strength and unsurpassed magical energy; Holly: Life, vitality, and immortality. Re'em (a magical beast native to North America) hair core. also represents strength. 13 1/2 inches. Springy.
Seeing as her turn was next, Morana reluctantly handed her wand to the Headmistress, fingers anxiously twitching to get it back.

Mai remembered how she felt about the posibility of losing her posistion, "Well, at first I was worried, just because I was not sure about how the students would react to me continuing the position. They however proved me wrong in my worrying and I am confident now that I will keep my position." She replied, hoping she didn't sound like a snob or way too confident that someone else could not steal Head Girl.
