Ah...do you people want to stop posting as soon as someone else posts in your thread - when more than one people are in the thread!? It is SO annoying!!! You wait for people to post...it's like you go in order. What if someone in your thread is busy? It happens and then when you go and post after one person posts, then they get left behind. Not to mention it makes your post crappy because you barely have anything to work with.
Example...you are role playing with four people, this is how it seems to be with some people:
Person #1 posts Person #2 posts Person #3 posts Person #4 posts [you're doing good there...but then what happens?] Person #2 posts Person #3 posts Person #2 posts Person #4 posts Person #3 posts And then, p*ssed off, here comes person #1.
Anyone want to know how to role play? I'm sorry if you don't realize, and if you don't, then I'll set an example, as I did previously. Person #1 posts Person #2 posts Person #3 posts Person #4 posts Person #1 posts Person #2 posts Person #3 posts Person #4 posts Person #1 posts Person #2 posts Person #3 posts Person #4 posts
Yes, keep going like that! Please! You really have no idea how annoying it is to catch up, read a whole page before you can finally post. It's okay to get out of the format a bit, but not in a crazy way!
Can we please - please make this some kind of rule? Or at least everyone do something similar to this?!

I am sorry Filles, but I do not agree. As you said the people who start the thread may be busy. But there are also the other people who just wait there 2-3 days for a stupid/short answer.
In RPG, the people who play should be attentive. Therefore, check at least once a day for new replies at the threads they have posted.
The p*ssed character #1 can pretend that was looking somewhere else or was lost in his ideas or smth.

Honestly, Filles. You can't expect people to slow down their RP lives just so someone can catch up. True, sometimes the posting does go fast, but then it's not like you can't pretend you were lost in thought or something, like Narcissa said.

Filles has a point, though.
Sometimes, when there are only two people posting in a thread where there are more than three, they run out of things to say. It really won't hurt to wait for the other person to post, in fact, it helps a lot because that person can help keep the flow of conversation going on.
Besides, it's better to have a moderate pace in roleplaying, especially if you're going for quality posts. In one thread that I was in (this was in another forum), we were three in a thread and we were going really slow because we can't catch each other online at the same time. But even if we had to wait for a couple of days for each other's replies, whenever I go online to check the threads, we had lots to write about because the previous posts are well written, and eventually, our posts became lengthy and sensible.

The p*ssed character #1 can pretend that was looking somewhere else or was lost in his ideas or smth.
Lmao, but that’s the thing! When it’s someone who actually puts effort in their posts – like me – I come back and see a whole page of paragraphs and less of people rambling on. You can’t completely leave a person out that long. Yes, they should be attentive, but sometimes, people get caught up and forget, maybe they have a lot of other characters, on a lot of different sites. But you can’t tell me that when you make a thread for something, you want to come back – like the day after – and see two pages that you have to catch up on? In which two or so people have basically gone off in their own conversation and you’re lost.. You’re one to talk, hon. Honestly, Filles. You can't expect people to slow down their RP lives just so someone can catch up. True, sometimes the posting does go fast, but then it's not like you can't pretend you were lost in thought or something, like Narcissa said. I’m not expecting someone to slow down their role play lives, I’m expecting people to respect that sometimes someone can’t always get online. -_- ’ Sometimes, sure, that’s fine, but you can’t always be lost in thought. I agree with person #2, #3, and #4. Okay. Filles has a point, though. Sometimes, when there are only two people posting in a thread where there are more than three, they run out of things to say. It really won't hurt to wait for the other person to post, in fact, it helps a lot because that person can help keep the flow of conversation going on. Yes…thank you. You are supposed to have a moderate pace in role-playing; it’s beneficial for everyone. Well, yeah, if you want quality posts, when someone doesn’t want quality posts, then they can all go ahead and post all scattered. Yes, it gives you a lot to write about, because there is more than one person, and everyone can talk and go on, and you can usually conjure up a really good post. Not saying that I don’t agree with you guys entirely, I mean, yeah, if you aren’t trying to put too much effort into your posts, it doesn’t matter if people go all over the place. And, I’m not saying you have to go strictly in order. Of course you can mix it around a bit, but it’s just not good when you have a page or more to catch up on.

Well put, Filles! I agree that it's not always logical (plausible? possible? I can't think of the word right now!) to go in order, but you shouldn't just leave a character in the dust. Sure, if someone is gone for several days, they might have a bit of catching up to do, but it shouldn't be pages.
Personally, I have left threads (not here, but on other sites) because two of the other characters would interact- often just one or two sentences- for pages on end. It wasn't even that I was gone that long, maybe just overnight. It's not fair for the other RP-ers (especially if they started the thread) to go ignored or to be left in the dust.
I think if people would consider how they'd feel in the other person's shoes, they would realize that it's not fair, nor is it fun. It gets frustrating to put a lot of time and effort into a post, only to come back the next day and find out someone else has decided to come have a date in your thread (for lack of a better example).
I hope I didn't ramble on too long and that what I said was understandable. There are some good points here, on both sides, and I hope that this opens some people's eyes.
Thank you again for starting this, Filles.

Oh, I definitely know what you mean! I may be online most of the time but because of the major difference in the time zone, I get left behind while the others who have some minor difference in the time zone would go on and on in the thread with pointless conversations! I really get fed-up with them and just leave that thread. I don't even bother looking back! Whether they may be wondering why I'm not answering or if they aren't, I'm not really bothered.
w00t! Go Filles for starting this!

I'm sorry Filles, but I have to disagree. A lot of people, as Narcissa said, just take their jolly time in posting a terrible one or two liner, and I personally just don't have the patience to wait for that. Of course there are some RP'rs who really put a lot of thought into their posts and are respectful of when they reply, but they just have to get offline. In that case, everybody posts one or two more posts and then they wait for the RPr to return.
This is just my opinion of course, so ya.
