(OOC: I apologize to all the Gryffindor and Hufflepuff Quidditch Players. I had sent out a PM to all the Quidditch Referees before the scheduled match, but apparently no one ever started the thread.) After a break in the Quidditch season, the second half of the 6 game Quidditch Tournament was now here. Three Quidditch games had already been played and the scored stood as follows: Slytherin in first place with 300 points, Hufflepuff in second with 160 points, Ravenclaw is third with 110 points, and Gryffindor in last place with 50 points. However, Gryffindor's chance to finally catch up had finally arrived. Quidditch fans once again filled the stands, eager to get back into the Quidditch season so they could cheer their friends and teammates on. Making her first appearance in quite awhile, Jill made her way to the stands walking a bit slower than usual. She tried her best to smile and at least appear fine, not wanting to worry her students. Gazing up at the clear blue sky and breathing in the fresh air, Jill did feel a little better. At least it's better than being cooped up in St. Mungo's... Unknown to most, Jill had recently come down with a rather serious illness that had required some hospitalization at St. Mungo's and had therefore relied on Narcissa Malfoy, the Deputy Headmistress, to help keep things running relatively smoothly at Hogwarts while she was away. Fortunately, Jill had recently been released from St. Mungo's with the instructions 'to take things slow'. She surveyed the stands, recognizing the faces of many students she hadn't be able to see in what seemed like forever. Smiling, Jill found the feeling of being able to be back with the students she so dearly missed to be more helpful than anything they had given her at St. Mungo's. (OOC: The Golden Snitch has been hidden! Note: The Golden Snitch is not hidden in any board that requires a password (like the Common Rooms or Dorms).) IMPORTANT NOTE FOR THE SEEKERS: Please PM Narcissa Malfoy with the url if you find the snitch. She will also be responsibile for keeping track of the score, settling disputes, etc. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The PlayersGryffindor Quidditch TeamLydia Turner, Captain* Christy Landles, Beater* Lauren Potter, Beater Josi Sky Emrald, Chaser DeAngelo Love, Chaser Jacklyn Potter, Chaser Melody Valentine, Keeper Lydia Turner, SeekerBack-Up Gryffindor Quidditch TeamPOSITION OPEN, Assistant Captain Tethys Carpathia, Back-Up Beater* Eddy Kamekona, Back-Up Beater POSITION OPEN, Back-Up Beater Ian Blackthorne, Back-Up Chaser Allison Martinez, Back-Up Chaser Katie Wood, Back-Up Chaser Rhiachnyn Black, Back-Up Keeper Kelsey Weasley, Back-Up SeekerHufflepuff Quidditch TeamAquarius Skye Potter, Captain Alistair Marsh, Beater Tristise Tempestas Rederick, Beater* Rachel Duly, Chaser Aquarius Skye Potter, Chaser Kaylin Springs, Chaser* Dakota Scheving, Keeper Solana Taylor, SeekerBack-Up Hufflepuff Quidditch TeamPOSITION OPEN, Assistant Captain POSITION OPEN, Back-Up Beater POSITION OPEN, Back-Up Beater Ellie Marie Stewart, Back-Up Chaser POSITION OPEN, Back-Up Chaser POSITION OPEN, Back-Up Chaser Jimmy Rederick, Back-Up Keeper Janella Urthadar, Back-Up Seeker

Tethys walked out onto the pitch, all dressed in her Quidditch robes with her broom in her hand. She was the first to arrive and decided to take a seat and wait for the other members of her team to arrive.

Cheering, screaming... that was all Tristise could hear from the locker rooms. Her adrenaline was pumping through her veins at an alarming rate. Her hand twitched nervously at her side as it had a tendency to do before a match. Her heel also beat a steadyily wearing print in the rugged floor beneath it as she sat waiting in her robes for her team to move to the pitch. Dear God... This is not a life or death situation Tristise! Get a grip. She told herself. It didn't help much though. Her housemates were out there watching... her professors... everyone. On top of all that she wasn't in the best of shape since her run in with some of Hufflepuff Head Girl Melinda Sparewell's lightning. With a sigh she stood up. It was time to go. She'd do her best no matter what and that was all she could ask for, right?
She felt herself taking a deep breath to sigh again. And then another... What if she did horribly in this match? Would her grandfather be disappointed? What about her father... would he yell? She turned around to look for her little brother Jimmy in the line of back-ups, but her eyes were unfocused and kept looking back ahead to the doors leading out onto the field that grew larger by the step. She was second in line behind Aquarius, the team captain. Aqua seemed calm to Tristise, but Tris really wasn't in any condition to tell. The doors opened and revealed bright green grass. Suddenly the restlessness she felt, the ticking in her hand, the butterflies in her stomach... they were all washed away by the lovely sunlight that flooded into the dark doorway.
She took one last deep breath and relaxed her tense shoulder muscles. It was time to play, not time to worry. Worry could come once the game was over. She might not even have to worry. Might not? Definitely won't... Hufflepuff will win for sure! Her thoughts masked their slight doubt easily. If nothing else Hufflepuff would win the feeling of having played a good match... or Tristise would. She was determined to try her hardest. Last match she'd hardly done much, a bit off her game. This time she wouldn't make the same mistake. She'd force herself to do better than her best if her best wasn't getting the job done. She hefted her broom in her right hand and got into position. Her left hand idly swinging her beater's bat.
Today it would get a lot of work, that bat of hers. Hopefully the bludgers could handle the force she would put behind her hits. Lycan strength was nice to have as a beater. You could send things flying so fast and so hard that other bats would break under the attempt to send them back. Oh how that cracking, that deafening cracking, sounded... music. Pure music.

Reagan stood near the Hufflepuff Quidditch locker room, a small flame in her hands. She let it roll around her fingers, occationally petting it like a kitten. At one point, she used her elemental control to form it into a small cat, but immediately stopped because of the mild nosebleed it gave her. Tristise would kill her if she saw it so she wiped it away quickly.
Tiring of this, she stuck her head in the door and, noting no quidditch players were in there save her twin, stepped in.
"So, I've done it." She said, waiting for Tristise to respond. "I've tried out for a back up quidditch position." She shrugged her shoulders slightly. "Actually, I'm aiming for assistant captain. Just incase I'm needed. I doubt it but, meh." She shrugged and, risking another nosebleed, formed the flame in her hand into the shape of a four leaf clover, her subtle way (and the only way she's ever done it) to let Tristise know who was cheering for her the hardest.

Kaylin looked at the hufflepuff badge under her shoulder. She knew it wasn't much different then her school robes one, but, this seemed special. Well the game was starting and for once she was on time. She waited behind Tristise and thoughts flooded her mind.
This game was her time. She knew her strenght was speed. She hadn't done basically anything in the Ravenclaw match. Whatever happens today it will somehow be okay no matter what. "Now, whle we are waiting for a referee. LEt's stratgize." She hadn't meant that seriously even though it could be helpful. The practice had been more than enough. She hoped everybody would realise that she had used a joking tone. Kaylin looked at Aqua and wondered if everything would be a dead room. Besides the screaming of course.

GRYFFINDOR WINS!
Lydia woke up with a jolt that morning and to her dismay, realized that she had just been dreaming. She slowly got out of her bed and threw on jeans and a t-shirt to go down to the Great Hall for breakfast. She was so excited; she almost couldn’t eat her eggs and sausage that she had picked out. I’m so nervous. What if Hufflepuff gets the snitch first? They might... I mean I’m not that great. she thought and sighed. Come on Lydia, focus! Your team needs you to be positive! she told herself and swallowed the lump of sausage that she shoved into her mouth. To her, it just felt like a stone sliding down her throat into her stomach.
Lydia kept looking at the time and trying to see if she could go to get changed yet, but she realized that it was only eleven in the morning. Finally, once she realized that she looked at the clock three times in the last thirty seconds, she needed to get outside. So, she headed for the courtyard. Once Lydia arrived at the courtyard, she sat down on the grass and smiled. Ah. Perfect quidditch conditions. she thought and layed down on the grass. The sky was perfectly blue with a few white puffy clouds here and there. After about an hour of picking out shapes in the few remaining clouds, she sat up and looked around.
I wonder what time it is.. the match should be soon. she thought and stood up. Lydia stretched out her arms, legs, and back and started back towards the door to the castle. When she got inside she glanced at the large clock in the school and it read twelve fourty five. I'll go upstairs now to get ready... she thought and started up the stairs.
As Lydia climbed the millions of stairs, she began to think about how the match would go today because in her mind, she knew that she was probably more terrified than any of the other players on the team. Although she had been in dozens of other matches, this one mainly determined whether they had a chance or not to win the Quidditch Cup of the '05-'06 year. Lydia couldn't help but think it would be her fault if they didn't win today because she ends the game. So, the end of the game relies on the two seekers, whoever manages to grab the snitch first.
She climbed each set of staircase and once a staircase began to move and she had to use the school as a maze and find out how she could get to her common room. She looked at all of the passing by portraits of the previous students of the school, women with babies, young girls at parties, knights battling, horses prancing through fields, and many others. She couldn't help but think how wonderful it would be to be painted into a picture during a quidditch match and being able to see how she had done at the match. It reminded her of muggle video cameras and how they could make movies somewhat like the wizard pictures, but the people in the wizarding world pictures could actually choose what they wanted to do.
Finally, Lydia reached the common room and she muttered the password to the Fat Lady portrait, who let her in. Of course, the common room was still full of people because the match didn't start for about another hour or so and no one needed to be there yet except the players. She waved to a few people and headed up to her dorm to change into her robes. After she changed, Lydia grabbed her Firebolt and flew straight out of the Gryffindor tower. She thought about how amazing it was going to be this afternoon with the wind whipping through her hair and her blueish grey eyes searching for the tiny golden snitch. Just the thought of it gave her the chills.
As she neared the pitch, Lydia lowered herself to the ground and dismounted her Firebolt at the enterance of the pitch. She entered and saw a few of the Hufflepuffs and on Gryffindor already there. Are you kidding me? Only one other Gryffindor is here!? Ugh. This may not be a good day... she thought irritatedly and walked over to the girl whom she met at the last practice. "Hey Tethys. Thank you so much for being commited to the team enough to be the first one here. I think you might be actually playing today if a beater doesn't show up." she told the female. "Which might not be so unlikely..." she muttered under her breath so only she could hear it.
Lydia laid her Firebolt on the ground and began to stretch out her arms, legs and back, because those parts of her body were always the most tensed up. "You might want to begin to stretch out, just because we don't know exactly when they are going to start," she suggested to Tethys. Lydia looked around the pitch and noticed that the stand were empty so far. In only a little while they'll be full.. and I'll be back where I belong. In the sky.
((ooc: sorry for the long-ness...))

As Tristise passed through the doors she was greeted by her twin sister Reagan. What a sight for sore eyes. She smiled slightly and watched Rea play with some fire. "Tried out for a Quidditch position? That's wonderful! I'd love to have you on the team."
She ignored the mention of the assistant captain position. Tris had wanted it... but if Reagan got it no big deal. She'd be upset for all of an hour. It was just another title. Sure she'd love to be the one calling practice if Aqua was busy, but if Reagan was captain she could just tell her to. Tris mentally shrugged and decided to hug Reagan instead of think about it. Her sis might be part of the team. That'd be awesome!
She pointed to Reagan's little symbol and nodded. "Thanks, Rea." With that she pointed to her team too and then moved after them. "I'll try and hit a Gryffie just for you! Want me to knock them off their broom if I can?" She joked. "Now go find a good seat and stop molding your fire too much. You'll get a nosebleed!"
Ahh... sisterly love. She turned to Kaylin and heard her mention strategizing. A small laugh came from her and her smile widened. "Yeah, strategize. Here it is: fly like mad and kick their sorry Gryffindor butts!" Tris didn't really mind the Gryffindors. Actually, many seemed to be alright. It was just one of those team-house pride things that always happened during and before a game.
She tossed her shortened blonde locks back into a small ponytail and rolled her shoulders to fix her robes. She would have stretched, but it was pointless. She'd spent all of earlier this morning running and stretching and getting in a few last minute swings. Oh jeeze, when would this game start? Her hand was beginning to twitch again. ((Bah.))

Reagan smiled as she walked away, hearing Tristise's desire to see her sister nosebleed free, and held up the bloodied tissue. Thankfully she was well out of her sisters reach. She did decide to jog up the steps to the Hufflepuff stands, glancing over her shoulder as she did so.
Sitting down, she knocked the drink out of a male hufflepuff sitting nearby. He glared at her momentarily and she glared back, flames in her eyes for a moment.
"Got something to say?" she asked. The guy shook his head and looked away and Reagan turned her attention to the game.
"C'MON HUFFLEPUFF!!" she shouted, voice cracking slightly. Others took up the cheer and clapped along with her. Reagan nodded, satisfied, sending that clover back where it came from as she waited.

Christy flew to the field knowing she was late and that the match had started. She had yet to be to a match on time.
When she got there it hadn't started yet. Christy was relived that she wasn't late so she slowed down to walk the rest of the way.
When she got there she sat down and rested on the bleachers for a little bit before she wanted to pratice. Christy liked to get in a little practice before a game on her own.

Narcissa entered the pitch with her Silver Merlin broom on her shoulder. It was her first time as a referee and she did not want to make a bad figure.
Narcissa looked down and saw herself wearing a green shirt with green pants. Yeah, pants! It was a first for her. She was used to dress always in dresses.
The pitch was full and she looked around to see the people there better. When she arrived in the middle of the field, she levitated the case containing the balls and did a Sonorus! charm on her throat.
"IS EVERYBODY READY?" she asked and looked around at the players.
"CAPTAINS, PLEASE SHAKE YOUR HANDS!" she said ready to kick the case open.

Aquarius ran out into the pitch, with her spitfire 2005 at hand. She was so excited for this match. Looking around, a few people were already there. Seeing that Tristise was already there, Aqua walked over and said hello. "Hi, Tristise. Are you as excited as I am?" She smiled and laughed. Seeing the DADA teacher had come out to referee the match, Aqua got excited. The professor called the captains to shake hands, Aqua ran over to the center. She was ready for the match, and waited for the Gryffindor captain to show up.

Solana ran onto the pitch, she was quite excited but yet nervous at the same time. This match was going to be very good indeed. It had been a while since Solana had actually played in a game and she was looking forward to the thrill of it all.
Solana was already dressed in her robes when she arrived at the pitch, she noticed several of her teammates already there. Her hair was tied back, her wings were tucked in and in her hand she carried her Nimbus 2000[OOC: cant think of a broom name]. She was ready for this match.
Solana took a look around, the gryffindor team seemed ready for the challenge that Hufflepuff where about to give them. Solana took a deep breath, nodded at her teammates and waited for the match to begin.
While waiting, Solana began to daydream. She remembered the last match she played. Hufflepuff won due to her excellent seeker skills. She just hoped, today would be the same. She hoped that if Hufflepuff won the match that the house spirit would return. Hufflepuff had been dying out lately and she was suprised to even find supporters at the match today. Whatever happened, she knew Hufflepuff would put on a good match and thats all she could hope for.
Solana's thoughts were interuptted by the Referee shouting for the captains to shake hands. Solana then put all thoughts of her mind and began concentration on the match. "This is it" she mouthed to her teammates.
"Good Luck everyone!" she said approaching some of them this time.

The teams flew in the air and she herself watched them. From the corner of her eye, she saw the hufflepuff seeker fly towards the ground. She turned her head to see what was happening.

The game had barely just begun when the snitch appeared right before Solana's eyes. She had just gone up in the air and the snitch was just right there, infront of her. Solana had to blink to make sure she wasn't dreaming. But as she reached out to grab it. It decided to gave a chase. It flew downwards straight to the ground. Solana flew after it, keeping a close tail and avoiding her teammates and other obstacles that were going to be in way of her catching the snitch.
Solana was about to grab it but it then decided to fly upwards. Up up up, Solana went after it, she wasn't giving up this time and the Gryffindor seeker didn't seem to notice what she was doing. The snitch kept climbing higher and higher into the sky. Solana too, climbed higher and higher into the sky, she was going to catch it whether the snitch liked it or not.
Higher, higher and even higher it climbed, Solana followed. And then it stopped momentarily. Solana then got her grasp on the snitch. Far below, she could see the pitch but everything looked like dots. She tightened her grasp on the snitch and went flying, down, down, down and further down. Now she was in clear sight of the pitch, she would have to keep her grip on the ball and land herself to show what she had caught. She could see, the whole pitch had its eyes now on her as she zoomed down into the pitch.
She done a full circle around the pitch to slow her speeding down in order for her to land to show her winnings. Around the pitch twice she went, slowing down by every turn she had to make. And finally, she flew into the middle of the pitch. Landed her broom, and rolled of it as best she could.
Standing up from her broom, she took a look around and smiled. She then shot her hand into the air and two tiny golden wings could be seen fluttering out either side of her clenched fist.
Solana had caught the snitch. Victory for Hufflepuff again!

She saw Solana mouth good luck to everybody and Kay nodded and smiled back. When the whistle blew she quickly returned to the game. Kaylin swiftly hopped on her broom and flew up to the quaffle. She grabbed it with her arm curved and it was now tucked into her left arm. She started flying down the Quidditch field.
When she had flew about a quarter down the field she looked for someone to throw two. she had delayed too long and a bludger swung down and hit her in the right arm. She released the quaffle and it started falling down. After the hit, Kay took a few moments to regain her balance. The quaffle was a good ways away from her and she knew she wouldn't reach it first. Kaylin desperately hoped on the Hufflpuffs to grab the quaffle. She held on to the broom with one hand and also hoped that she would regain feeling in her arm.

Christy seen the quffle being released and the bludgers soon followed. She seen one headed right for her so she got ready to hit it, she *wack* she sent it flying across the field, Right to the goal post of the Hufflepuffs.
She was thinking yes she made a goal fo herself with out the quffle. She looked around and seen that another bludger was heading for the backups so she headed tward them and she raced to them to hit it away.
She wondered where everyone was, and why the back ups were just standing there. She was the only beater out here. She wasn't going to be the only one out here to make this team win, she needed help to win, she was only a beater not a seeker or a keeper or a chaser, she needed everyone of those out here not just a beater.

As soon as the quaffle was tossed, Aqua flew for it and caught it. She zig-zaged around the avoid any other chasers so she could get a good start tward the Gryffindor goal. She glanced off tot he side and saw that Solana had soptted the snitch. She was so happy she yelled out encoraging comments to her so that she was motivated. "You can do it Solana. You've got that snitch where you want it!" Aqua shouted full of happiness and pride. Once Solana caight that ball, Aqua cheered and shouted happily that Hufflepuff had once again one a match. Lydia continued to search the field for the shimmering snitch and saw the Hufflepuff seeker grasp her fingers around it. D*mnit! she thought angrily. Second game and we lost.. again. I must be a terrible captain and seeker... she though sulkily. She landed carefully and walked over to the Hufflepuff seeker. "Congratulations." she said and stuck her hand out. Then, Lydia walked over to the side of the pitch towards the locker rooms.
Quietly, she slipped off the roaring field into the silence of the locker rooms. Lydia paced back and forth, pondering how she could possibly win their final match, just so they didn't have a losing streak for the year. She bit her lip and realized that many of her teammates weren't very active and she must be more strict with attendance at practices. She sat down and put her head in her hands and realized that a tear had slipped down her cheek. C'mon Lydia. It's just a game. For fun. Remember? she thought and wiped the stray tear.
"I need to relax." she said softly and put her head in her hands once again. Then, after a few minutes, Lydia stood up and picked up her Firebolt. She walked out of the locker room door and back up towards the castle with many ideas swimming through her head.
