(OOC: I want to thank all who submitted their names into the Goblet of Fire. It was a very hard decision because there were good applicants in all houses. The champions were chosen with the following in mind: their activeness on the site, their QWT Application answers, the Poll results, and their RPing skills.) After taking the names of students who wished to be in the QWT for two months, the Goblet of Fire now stood in front of the Staff Table in full view of all students. The morning of October 31st had finally arrived and Jill waited for students and professors alike to take their seats at their designated tables in the Great Hall. The tension and excitement was high - today the Goblet of Fire would chose the names of the four house champions for the Quad-Wizard Tournament. As Jill stood up and tapped a glass for attention, the students quieted down quicker than usual as all were eager to hear the results. Jill cleared her throat and began. "Good morning everyone and Happy Halloween. As you know, in a few minutes the Quad-Wizard Tournament Champions will be chosen. However, before I activate the Goblet of Fire, I would like to say a few words. The last time we had a wizarding tournament at Hogwarts was 11 years ago. That one was a Tri Wizard tournament in which Hogwarts competed with 2 other wizarding schools - Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. Some of you may have even heard about this tournament - it received a lot of attention and it ended with the famous Harry Potter winning it. I mention it because it also ended with the death of one of the champions - a student who attended Hogwarts years ago. I would like to take the time right now to say that security for this tournament has been tightened severely. There will be no deaths this time." Jill paused to glance over the sea of students. Student safety was a top priority with her and she didn't want anything to happen to any of them. "And now, the Goblet of Fire will choose the four house champions." With the flick of her wand, Jill activated the Goblet of Fire. The Goblet's flames instantly ignited, turning various colors. It then settled on a fiery red. The first name flew out of the goblet. Jill read: "The Gryffindor champion is Josi Sky Emrald!" A loud cheer rose up from the Gryffindor table, congratulating their champion. The Goblet then swirled into a bright yellow. It spat out another name. Jill recited the second name: "The Hufflepuff champion is Colleen Marie Hadley!" A joyous roar erupted at the Hufflepuff table, proud of their champion. Turning now into a deep blue, the Goblet emitted yet another name. Jill delivered the name from her own Hogwarts house: "The Ravenclaw champion is Mai Gamit!" A round of clapping and congratulations was heard at the Ravenclaw table, excited for their champion. The Goblet's flame then turned into a dark green and sent out the final champion's name. Jill repeated the final name: "The Slytherin champion is Morana Neus!" Excited chatter and congratulatory whistles came from the Slytherin table, knowing their champion would serve them well. The Goblet's fire then died down, not to be re-ignited until the next tournament. Jill allowed the students to applaud their champions, but tapped a glass again for some closing statements. "Attention please! Thank you. The Goblet of Fire has been choosing champions for hundreds of years and always chooses the best qualified witch or wizard. I am personally very pleased with Josi, Colleen, Mai, and Morana and know that they will represent their houses well." The cheers began again, but waved her hands to show that she wasn't finished. "There will be 5 judges for the tournament - myself and the four Heads of Houses, which are Professor Hermione Granger, Professor Paiya Rayne Tonks, Professor Hanaralee Derysa, and Professor Draco Malfoy. The tournament will consist of 4 tasks, dealing with the four elements: Air, Earth, Fire, and Water. The date of the first task is Saturday, November 26th and I will announce it in a few days. Once again, congratulations to Josi, Colleen, Mai, and Morana!" (OOC: Just like Quidditch players have Back-Ups, I have chosen Alternate Champions as well. If one of the champions deletes their account, quits the tournament or something else like that, their alternate will take their place as champion. The alternate champions are: Gryffindor Alternate Champion - Rainen Ismaree Harvey, Hufflepuff Alternate Champion - Tami Ashburn, Ravenclaw Alternate Champion - Sarah Black, and Slytherin Alternate Champion - Damon Darkweather. Once again, thank you to all who submitted their names!) (OOC EDIT: By the way, you are allowed to reply to this thread IC with your reactions - think of it like the Start-of-Term Feast thread from awhile ago.)

Tonight was the night. The night where everyone will find out who are going to be the champions. She walked into the Great Hall with everyone, feeling very excited.
She took a seat next to her friends and chatted excitedly. "I hope that it is going to be the right person for each house and I definitely hope no one will feel dissapointed or something," she told her friends.
After a few good minutes of chatting, the Headmistress announced that the champions are going to be annoucned.
When she heard Josi's name being called, she couldn't help but give an excited squeal. She went to find Josi and gave her a hug. "Congratulations Josi!" she said with a wide grin.
She didn't get to hear the rest of the champions being called out what with the noise coming from the Gryffindor Table.
She asked one of her friends who were the champions and was happy that Colleen, Mai and Morana were the champions.
"This is so great!" she said.

"Gryffindor well be well lead, and supported!" She said to the Griffendor house champion, Josi Sky Emrald. She moved on to the other champions, which were very crowed by that time to congradulate every one.

Narcissa was dressed in black and orange the 31st of october. It was a long tradition of hers to be dressed like that in Hallowe'en.
When the champions were announced, she clapped respectfully. Being a former Slytherin, she was secretly cheering for Morana, but her teacher duties, did not allow her to express her supporting.
OOC Good luck everyone that has been chosen!

"Yay Josi!" Branna exclaimed, tearing over to the girl and giving her a big squeeze. "We'll try to help you every step of the way too!" She tuned in long enough to hear someone mention the names of the other champions. "Colleen!" she grinned, delighted for her friend. She ran over to the Hufflepuff table and flung her arms around her too. "Well done Colleen!" she gushed.

Sarah had her fingers crossed. When the Ravenclaw champion was announced, she shook her head, a little disappointed. But, Sarah knew that Mai was perfect for the Ravenclaw house champion, and they would probably win now. Turning to face Mai, "Congratulations Mai. I know you'll do awesome!" She ran over and gave the older girl a hug.
'I got back-up,' Sarah thought to herself. A smile broke over her face. 'That is still really really good.' She turned back towards the celebrating Ravenclaw table and joined in the cheering.

She turned back towards the celebrating Ravenclaw table and joined in the cheering. This was the night, not for him, but for the Ravenclaw Champ. Of all the submitters, he was probably the only one who wasn't holding his breath. He knew there was no way he could have been chose, he wasn't that well known, and he wasn't with his school, which might have garenteed his Champ. He was, however, rooting for Sarah, hoping at least she would win. But when Mai's name was called, he felt disappointed. "I'm sorry hunny, I was hoping you'd win." She seemed to think a bit before turning to him with a smile and started cheering for Mai, in which Kevin joined in. "Great job, Mai, congrads!" Having to quiet down for the last Champion, he took that time to talk to Sarah. "Are you ok?"

Professor Sparewell was sitting in his place on the staff table, appluading all Champions, but mostly for Griffindor. Clearly remembering that Tri-Wizard with Harry, he watched closely to the Goblet, while the Headmistress spoke, to see if there was any chance they would have a repeat of Harry Potter's situation. In these darkening times, anything could happen.

After the announcement from the headmistress which revealed the champions from each house for the Quad Wizard Tournament, Artemis had turned his muscular frame toward Morana, catching her gaze he nodded and flashed her a proud fatherly smile. Artemis knew that Morana was indeed Slytherin's best choice if they were to win this contest.
Throwing a glance at each of the other house champions, Artemis began to applaud their accomplishment with a slow mocking golf clap.

Post by Morana Neus on Oct 31, 2005 18:52:00 GMT -5
((Now to fix up my post since I have the time...))
Morana entered the Great Hall, a smile threatening to break through at the cheerful, excited atmosphere that was radiating throughout the room off of everyone.
Once seated and full to the brim with breakfast, the Headmistress called everyone to attention and began her speech (half of which Morana didn't hear; she was to busy staring at the Goblet of Fire in anticipation).
Then, the flames began to change colors, settling on a fiery red before spitting out the first name.
The Headmistress yelled "The Gryffindor champion is Josi Sky Emrald!", which was followed by mass cheering from the Gryffindor table.
Then, after a short while, the flames changed colors again, this time settling on a bright yellow before spitting out the second name.
The Headmistress yelled out "The Hufflepuff champion is Colleen Marie Hadley!", cheers erupting form the Hufflepuff table barely a second after.
By now, Morana was getting slightly impatient, eager to hear the name of the Slytherin champion.
Instead, the flames turned a deep blue, spitting out a name who the headmistress announced "The Ravenclaw champion is Mai Gamit!", wild cheering coming from her table.
Finally, the flames turned a dark green and spat out the final name.
After what seemed like an unreasonably lengthy pause, the headmistress said "The Slytherin champion is Morana Neus!"
Morana sat there, stunned.
'I... am the Slytherin Champion?...'
She put her name in, wanting to win, but not expecting to; especially after seeing the competition.
And then it hit her: 'Oh. My. God...'
Gathering her composure, Morana sat up straight and smirked triumphantly, nodding in thanks to all the people who wished her congratulations.
((Thank you everyone, and good luck to the other competitors!!!))

ooc: *dies* omg... I'm so happy ;D Thanks people! I hope I can do a good job... and good luck and congrats to all the other champions and back-ups!
bic: Josi sat down at the Gryffindor table, the headmistress hadn't even started her speech, and she had began to shake a bit, she was so nervous. She had totally lost her appetite, and just wanted to hear who the champions were.
As Jill begun her speech, Josi sat quietly, listening very intently. Oh God, Oh God, Oh God... she thought to herself, as her body slowly tensed up with every word the headmistress spoke. She really wanted to be chosen, but was also afraid to be chosen, because the tasks could be very hard, and she feared loosing, she didn't want to let her house down - therefore she would give it her all.
As her name was called, she couldn't believe it. Her jaw lost it's position, causing her mouth drop in shock. Her eyes stayed focused infront of her, as she let it sink in, Holy crap... Wow. she thought to herself, as she heard Gryffindors cheer, and felt Jacklyn hug her. Ah... she thought, suddenly hit with another nervousness, she didn't want to loose, and even if she did, she would try her best, and that's all they could ask for, right?
Everything seemed to go in slow-motion, as she heard all the other names be called, she was happy she heard Colleens name, she had taken a liking to her. Out of no where, everything went back to it's normal pace, and Josi let out a happy giggle, as she quickly returned Jacklyn's hug. Josi turned to the girl who she had been going against to become champion, she smiled, "Thanks." she said, soon to find herself being hugged by Branna, "Oh my God, I cant believe this!" Josi exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear. As others congratulated her, she smiled, and thanked them, she was so happy, and shocked.
Before turning to Colleen, she congratulated Rainen, and hoped that the other people who tried-out for champion weren't disappointed, she knew they were all good witches/wizards. Smiling at Colleen she gave her a quick hug, "Congrats! I can't believe this!" she said excitedly, glancing at the two other champions that she hadn't met before, and smiled at them, "This is just awesome." she said, turning back to Colleen.

Post by Colleen Marie Hadley on Nov 1, 2005 12:56:43 GMT -5
Colleen had entered the Great Hall with everyone else, brimming with excitement. I can't believe it...today's the day! Colleen thought happily as she took her seat at the Hufflepuff table. She looked up at the Staff Table, where the Goblet of Fire stood, remembering the day she had entered her name. It seemed like ages ago now.
The Headmistress stood up and wished everyone a Happy Halloween. Colleen listened carefully as she went on to explain about the last wizarding tournament...in which someone had died? That's terrible! Colleen thought, but continued to listen as the Headmistress promised that there would be no deaths this time. Relieved, she trusted the Headmistress would keep her word.
After her introduction, the Headmistress activated the Goblet of Fire. Oh wow...here we go...! Colleen watched in amazement as the flames turned pretty colors. After it turned red, the Goblet released a name - the Gryffindor champion.
"The Gryffindor champion is Josi Sky Emrald!" Colleen heard the Headmistress announce. Awesome! I knew she'd get it - she'll be a great champion! Colleen was excited for her friend.
Colleen watched as the Goblet of Fire sent out a second name. "The Hufflepuff chmapion is Colleen Marie Hadley!" The Headmistress had read for all to hear. Yay Colleen! Wait...wait a minute...I'm Colleen! I...I'm...the Hufflepuff Champion! Colleen was overwhelmed with a wave of shock. I can't believe it - I'm in! I'm actually in the Quad-Wizard Tournament!
A huge smile spread across Colleen's face, proud to be representing her house. She continued to listen, though, as the other champions hadn't been announced yet. The Goblet then spat out another name and the Headmistress announced Mai Gamit as the Ravenclaw champion. Mai! Yay! Colleen smiled, excited for her friend.
The final name then came out of the Goblet - this time announcing the name of Morana Neus for Slytherin. Whoa cool - Morana! Colleen was thrilled for Morana as well.
Wow...those are all great people! Colleen thought happily, although a realization hit her like a brick wall. They're all great people...that I'll be competing against. Colleen was happy that her friends were chosen, but now she would have to compete against them. That's OK. Colleen thought. I have to understand that they will do the best they can for their house and they have to understand that I will do the best for mine. Colleen loved her friends, but loved her house as well and wasn't about to let her fellow Hufflepuffs down. It was a competition, after all. But that doesn't mean it can't be a friendly competition, right?
As the ceremony finished, Colleen stood up to congratulate her fellow champions. She saw Jacklyn and Branna give Josi a hug and the other Gryffindors celebrating. Branna came over to congratulate Colleen. "Thanks Branna! I'm so excited!" She smiled at her friend. She was a little disappointed that Jacklyn hadn't come over, though.
As she made her way through the crowd, Josi had come to congratulate her as well. Colleen laughed. "Wow, I was just coming to congratulate you as well! Yeah, I know...it's amazing! Congratulations - I know you'll make Gryffindor very proud!" Colleen said, returning Josi's smile. It was great that they both had made it.
She headed toward the Ravenclaw table to congratulate her friend Mai, the Head Girl. "I can't believe we're in it together Mai! It's going to be so much fun. Congratulations - you certainly deserve it!" She smiled at her friend, who was being swamped by other people as well.
She made her way to the Slytherin table and spotted Morana. "Congratulations Morana! Slytherin should be very proud of you - you make a great champion!" She called out to her friend over the crowd.
The whole thing seemed like a dream, so surreal. Colleen wondered if she would wake up tomorrow and find out it was all just her imagination.

"The Hufflepuff champion is Colleen Marie Hadley!"
Chris didn't react for a second after the headmistress finished speaking, and then turned to Colleen with a joyous smile on his face. Trouble was, in that second, she had already been swallowed up by the crowd. He saw he being hugged enthusiastically by a Gyffindor, he saw her making her way through the crowds to the Gryffindor champion, to the Ravenclaw champion, and calling out to a girl he guessed was the Slytherin champion. He felt a desperate need to let her know that he was here, delighted for her, wanting to share this moment that was so special for her with her. It was at this point that a small gap appeared in front of him, allowing him to squeeze his way through to Colleen. His arms reached out as soon as he was near enough to reach her, and he placed his hands on her waist, lifted her up, and spun her around in the air.
"You got it!" he exclaimed. "Of course...congratulations!" He kissed her quickly, delighted for her, and placed her gently back on her feet.

Rainen sat silently in her seat at the Gryffindor table. She looked around at everyone who was cheering for the champions. Her face held a look of slight disappointment, but she hid it well. Her heart had slumped to below her stomach when she hadn't been called as champion.
She rose to her feet, nodded to Josi with a morose smile, and walked to the doors without another glance around. It was hard to deal with such a let down. She knew the goblet had chosen well, better than if she had been champion, but it still hurt. She held back tears that stung her eyes like pins pricking away at the corneas. They were scorching the insides of her lower lids as they pooled there, but there'd be hell to pay if she let anyone see her cry over something so trivial. A proper lady never cried in public. In fact, just the fact she wanted to cry made her feel more ashamed of herself.
She exited quickly once she reached the doors and disappeared into the blackness of the entrance hall.

She hugged Colleen from the behind and whispered, "Congratulations Colleen! I know you owuld do briliant!" She grinned and waved and rushed over to the Ravenclaw Table. "Mai!" she called out and ran over to her. "Congratulations!" she said with a grin. Now for Morana... she thought as she walked over to her. "Morana! Congratulations!" she shouted over the cheering.
