If you have a question that is not answered here, please PM the Headmistress and she will answer it for it as soon as possible!
Q: Can I be a character from the Harry Potter books?
A: Yes you can! If you want to be Harry, Hermione, or any other character from the books, you can create that character on the site, but you must remember that it's 2005 and that Harry and his friends are no longer at Hogwarts. However, you create what everyone is dying to know - what happens to Harry and his friends after the 7th book/they all graduated from Hogwarts. A easy future for Harry would be to make him an Auror, the job he always wanted, and describe how his life is now that he works as an Auror. But it's up to you, the author!
Q: Can I be a character that isn't from the Harry Potter books?
A: Yes! There will probably be new characters in the 7th book that we don't know about yet, so you can be one of them, or create a new character that came after the 7th book (for example, a student member of the class of 2006)! It's your choice.
Q: Can I be a ghost of a dead Harry Potter character?
A: Want to be Sirius? James or Lily Potter? You can! Tell us how they're doing after their death.
Q: Can I be an evil character?
A: Sure you can! Conflict is good for storylines. Evil options include Death Eater, Demon, Vampire, Werewolf. But those are just the commonly perceived evil ones. You could also be evil being a student or a professor...heck, I could be evil!
Q: Can I be Head Girl/Head Boy/Prefect/Professor/any other type of special character?
A: Yes you can, but those types of characters have limited numbers and granting the status of those types of characters is on a first come, first serve basis (that's the advantage of/my thank you for signing up while the site is still very new!) If you would like to be one of those characters (say, for example, you wanted Head Boy but it's already taken), you will have to wait until one of the following happens: 1) the current Head Boy dies/gets killed, 2) the current Head Boy graduates from Hogwarts, 3) the current Head Boy voluntarily relinquishes his status/no longer wants to be Head Boy, or 4) the current Head Boy is removed by me due to serious rule-breaking/inappropriate behavior. In the meantime, you could give your name to me to be put on a waiting list until one of the above four scenarios happen. If/when one of the above four scenarios do happen, you will be notified by PM and asked if you still want the position. If so, you will have to meet all of the requirements listed at the Sorting Ceremony and fill out an application for the position. The only exception is if you're the only one on the waiting list, in which case it will automatically go to you.
Q: Can I have more than one character?
A: Absolutely! There is no limit to how many characters you can have. Have as many as you can handle.
Q: Who may attend Hogwarts? Besides students, Centaurs, Faeries, Giants, Ghosts, House-Elves, Leprechauns, Nymphs, Phantoms, Pixies, Poltergeists, Sprites, Vampires (night classes), and Werewolves may attend the school. Dumbledore allowed Remus Lupin to attend Hogwarts despite the fact he was a werewolf, and Rubeus Hagrid also attended Hogwarts despite his (half-giant) giant ancestry. The current Headmistress does not discriminate as well, but the rule is that all non-human creatures must be respectful and follow the same rules as the students. There is no attacking or killing of students in Hogwarts or on school grounds.
Q: Why aren't Harry, Hermione, and Ron still students at Hogwarts?
A: Because this site is meant to be the present-day Hogwarts (as in the year 2005) and according to the books, Harry and his friends would have graduated from Hogwarts in 1998. So that means they've been gone for 7 years! But don't worry, you could still find out what they did after Hogwarts!
Q: Why does it say 'Charms Professor' instead of Flitwick, etc?
A: Because it is unknown if Flitwick will be teaching charms. That's up to whoever wants to teach charms. If someone creates an original character that want to teach charms, they can. Or if someone wants to create Flitwick and teach charms, they may do that as well. All teaching positions have the option of being filled by a Harry Potter character or an original. It could be that Flitwick retired after Harry graduated, so someone new may be the charms teacher. It all depends on who wants to fill the poisition.
Q: Why does this site have so many boards?
A: Because although the books focus mainly on Hogwarts, I wanted to build a site where there was a lot going on outside of Hogwarts as well. That's why you can be an Auror, Death Eater, Demon, Faerie, Goblin, Healer, Mermaid/Merman, Ministry Worker, Store Owner, Vampire, Werewolf. Those types of characters aren't usually found at Hogwarts, but can have their own plots when they commonly are, completely un-linked to Hogwarts.
