To all students,
Classes will start tomorrow, September 12, 2005, around 7pm. Nevertheless, students may still sign-up at a later time and date. I'm not in a hurry but some students have PM-ed me and I wouldn't want to make them wait for long. Besides, I already have the starting text ready. So, I hope to see more of you! (PM me to sign up)

Note: If anyone under 3rd year wants to take up Ancient Runes, ask the Headmistress first.

To my students, The homework for the first class will simply be a matter of roleplaying doing it. You don't have to do the essay, just start a thread anywhere in the forum and send me the link through PM. You'll earn ten points for it, and if you actually wrote the essay then I'll give 20 points. I'm still not done with the text but I have updated it. www.freewebs.com/jsullivan/Also, I've changed a few policies, check the thread in my office. Students are now given the same time with the classes to do assignments. However, the first assignment is an exception. You are given the choice to do all assignments in RP form, just send the link of the thread or post through PM. This is equivalent to 10 (or lower) points. If I gave an essay or something you really have to do and you actually did it, then I'll give 20 (or lower) points. Just choose only one of the two ways. -James R. Sullivan

To my students,
Ancient Runes Class 3 is already up. I do hope to see all of you there, especially the new ones who have PMed me. It is expected that to attend the class once you signed up, meaning you wanted to join.
To newcomers who also want to join,
Send me a PM then automatically you may post in the current class thread. Or don't send a PM and just post in the class thread then I will add you to the class list, meaning you're required to join the class from then on.

To all new students who want to join Ancient Runes,
It's never too late to join my class. Never.
I really don't mind whether you are new or not, once you join my class, you can always roleplay your character having attended class before. That is acceptable, since students are only accepted during the start of term. If your character plot (I mean, the story of your character) indicates that you transferred after classes started, then I can't do anything about it, and my character doesn't bother with make-up classes or extra credit for missing class. Yep, I don't.
I don't know if it's heartless of me to not allow anyone to make up for the classes they've missed, but do not ever think that it's a problem if you are new to the site. I, for one, don't. This is not a real school, anyone can always join anytime and no one will mind. Sure you may be a newcomer to this site, but it doesn't have to affect your roleplaying. To be honest, I think that if you say you're a newbie in OOC and IC, then you're making things tougher for your character, you know. So do not worry if you are new and you want to be included. Eventually, you will be.
As a new policy, all newcomers to Ancient Runes class CAN pretend that they have attended class before. (Unless of course, you want your character to miss all previous classes. That would make him/her a delinquent.) The locked classes can still be read, you can look it up from time to time. That is to help you pretend and it will make things easier for you and me. I will not be providing a make-up class, keep that in mind. This is all I can give to newcomers.

To all Ancient Runes students,
ARClass 8 will begin on April 1 and to spare me from too much effort in tallying points and stuff, I'm asking you to please attend this class to determine whether you still want to continue this subject. If you're on hiatus, most likely you will not get this PM until you get back on (who knows when) and so, I'm going to remove the following from my class list:
-those who signed up but never attended any of the classes -those who are on hiatus -those who have missed class for more than 3 times since signing up
I'm doing this because I'm tired of deducting points and including names in every list whatnots. I don't care whether in doing this step there might be the possibility of having less than five students in class as long as it isn't tiresome and dragging for both student and teacher.
If you're removed from the list but you still want to attend class and the classes after that, just post in the class thread and I will add you once again.
So there. See you on April 1st or even earlier if I get my teaching muse back before the said date.
