((OOC: Sorry I haven't posted.. I'm not having a good New Years.))
Amora had finished her last song.. Goo Goo Dolls- Iris has been the final. She looked down at Leonard, and she pointed at her equiptment.. "Calicio Equiptment.." she said, and it returned to where she put it. She smiled and hugged and kissed Leonard goodbye, she had to get out to the Forbidden Forest. She hugged random people, and whispered in Lizabeth's and Magyn's ear the same thing. "Get everyone you want to come.. I'm starting an afterparty out in the Forbidden Forest.. tell the humans they won't be harmed for tonight. Only people you guys invite." she smiled at them, and turned, leaving out of the Yule Ball, a last look at the decorations.. and people flooding back to their common rooms.

Owen listened, enjoying the friendly atmosphere, as the group chatted among themselves. Before long, Ian had excused himself to dance with a girl Owen thought he recognised as the Gryffindor Quidditch team captain. Then again, he could have been wrong. It didn't matter much, Owen didn't even know her, but it was just that he knew so few people he liked to see who he could recognise. He looked at them for a moment, trying to decide if it really was her, and then turned back to Branna and Josi. Chris had long since left them, having been greeted quickly by Colleen, whom he had met briefly once, and led out by her to dance. The seventh-year hadn't arrived back since.
When he turned back, however, Josi was going somewhere else. Owen echoed Branna's "No problem", and then looked at her, wondering what she had planned. As she reached out and took his hands, her last words registered. She wanted to dance. Smiling, she dragged him onto the dancefloor, and for some reason the presence of her hands gently curled around his stopped him from being able to react. Blindly, he followed her. Thank goodness she was leading him to a harmless place like a dancefloor, for he felt incapable to move of his own accord, and honestly thought he might have followed just as blindly if she had been leading him into the forbidden forest.
Branna looped her arms around his neck, and Owen tentatively brought his own around her waist. He didn't know what was wrong with him. His eyes were disbelieving- he was scared of something. That he'd hurt her, maybe, hurt this fairy that he held in his arms. A fairy, that's what she was like, she was so fragile and delicate. He felt like a giant, afraid he'd squash her. But at the same time, Owen realised something. Petite and slight she may have been, but Branna would never stand for being treated as fragile. She was so full of life, such a big personality, and there was no way she'd want to be tip-toed around. With this in mind, Owen tightened his hold on her. It brought him to his senses a bit.
Feeling more himself, he looked into her face, a face that was shining with happiness. He was confused again, dammit. Smiling, but with a hint of uncertainty, he looked over her shoulder and pulled her in closer to him so that she wouldn't be able to see his face and read whatever was written there before he had a chance to figure it out for himself. She was good at reading him.

*Rachel wandered around the dance hall. She was getting quite bored, especially since most of the people were coupled up. She pulled out her last bottle of Aquafina water and guzzeled it down. Then, she grabbed a small bottle of sparkling cider and began to drink that.*

Riachnyn smiled. It was finally her turn! Getting on the stage, she whisked her wand towards her music stand and chair. Placing them on the stage, she set up the decorations that she had brought along. Waving her wand above her, an iron canopy covered with ivy appeared. The ivy fell to about a handswidth above the floor.
Riachnyn started her first piece, Partita in C Minor by Bach (also known as Suite #2 in A Minor). It was one of the most common of Bach's works. It was written for a lute, but she had adapted it for the bass clarinet.
As soon as Ria started playing, silver mist started floating out of her bell (the bottom of her instrument). It soon settled on the stage, creatting an ethereal look. After three measures had passed, the ivy branches that hung down began to sway to the rhythm. Riachnyn played on.

*As Riachnyn set up the stage, Rachel went up to the front of the stage. She listened to what was being played, and let it calm her down after being up on stage. The fast-pumping blood in her body slowed, her mind stopped racing, and she felt completely calm. She listened to the music and let it calm her.*

Damon smirked and laughed softly while inclining his thin right eyebrow when Aaralyn mentioned she still hadn’t chosen a favorite color. He was about to ask her why she’d chosen the dress she had on then, when she added “I thought back and chose a dress based on your eye color; "Because they are amazing." His left eyebrow slowly inclined to join his right and a slight smile touched his lips, [shadow=red,left,300]“Is that so”[/shadow] He said teasingly while continuing to smirk playfully. He was quite flattered that she had picked out a dress that was based on the color of his sapphire eyes, but he kept up a teasing, playful manner nonetheless.
His thin eyebrow reclined and he smiled when she took his hand. Gracefully, he led her out onto the polished hardwood floors of the dance hall when Amora’s song began to play. Damon’s chrome heeled boots made a slight clicking sound with his careful steps. When he felt the soft silky skin of her hands settle on the warm flesh of his neck, a warm smile rose to his lips and his dark blue eyes sparkled, reflecting the bright light of the chandelier overhead. His strong hands settled upon the silky material of her dress, carefully gripping her waist. He felt her soft skin through the silky material, and his right eyebrow rose- then he smirked playfully. He kept his dark sapphire eyes locked on hers as he moved his hips and feet in time with the music. Damon slowly moved his right hand from her hip to her lower back and he dipped her gracefully. He emitted a soft joyous laugh while looking down into her eyes, and he planted a small soft kiss on her lips. With seamless careful grace, he brought her back into a standing position and placed his powerful hands on her hips once again to resume their slow dance.
His practiced, graceful steps were quite simple to follow as he led her around the course of the dance floor with the slow fluid movement of his hips. The dance he chose was a romantic Latin waltz with short movements and prefered closeness between partners. His chrome heeled boots clicked on the hard floor with each step and pivot, and his strong legs moved slowly and repeatedly from side to side, then back and forth in time with the beat of the music. He was having great fun dancing with Aaralyn, and the last time he danced this way was last year at his parent’s dinner party. Damon lowered his head and whispered passionately in her ear while he expertly kept up his dance steps, [shadow=red,left,300]“You're quite graceful.”[/shadow] He nuzzled her ear lovingly and lightly planted a kiss on cheek. She smelled wonderful, like flowers after a soft rain. He drank in her scent deeply before locking his dark gaze back into her eyes. He expertly moved right hand to her lower back and dipped her backwards again as the song was coming to and end. And when Amora sang the last note, Damon leaned forward to plant a kiss on Aaralyn’s silky lips in time with the ending of the song. He returned her to an upright position and hugged her, [shadow=red,left,300]“That, was a lot of fun.”[/shadow] He said gazing lovingly into her eyes. He began to clap loudly and whistled when Amora finished her song. He yelled, [shadow=red,left,300]“Encore, Encore!” [/shadow]

'Man, this party blows.', Morana thought with a sigh, gazing off into the distance.
After watching the other champions dance, she sat at one of the tables, where she had yet to move from, even after several bands played. She spent that whole time contemplating her existence and how she couldn't even keep the eye of one love interest... ever. Now that she thought about it, she had never had a boyfriend.
'Geez, I must've been a cold-hearted B*tch back then... Heck, still now...' she thought disgustedly.
'It's not like it's my fault... I'm just a product of a sh*tty childhood...'
No matter how many times she repeated that phrase in her head, however, somehow, she couldn't -no, didn't- believe it.
Sighing again, Morana stood up and looked around. Watching as a girl played on a clarinet, she stretched and briskly made her way toward the exit, sick of all the ceaseless chattering and formality.

"Yes, you're totally right!" Chris told Josi in response to her question. ((many many/i] pages ago...!))
Out of nowhere, Colleen arrived and whisked him off to the dancefloor, just in time for the opening dance.
"You're beautiful," he told her as they danced, forgetting, or maybe not caring, that the whole school was watching.
The ball progressed, but Chris hadn't seen any of the other people he'd been talking to earlier in a while. He continued to dance with Colleen, just enjoying her company. They danced past Branna, who was dancing with Owen, but they didn't get a chance to stop and talk. Not that Chris would have interrupted- it looked like maybe there was something going on there after all. Chris didn't know...it was confusing, to say the least.
The night wore on, and suddenly the ball was almost over, although it seemed as though it had just started. "Maybe afterwards we can go back to the common room and I can give you your present," Chris suggested.
((post sucks, I just thought I should RP the opening dance bit before the thread was actually locked, LMAO))

Colleen smiled as Chris told her how beautiful she was. "Oh, Chris...there's no one else in the entire world that I'd rather share tonight with. It's perfect." As she danced around the room with her boyfriend, she couldn't help but think how incredibly lucky she was.
After the first dance, she enjoyed the performances of her fellow students. Wow! We have a lot of talented people at our school! With the loud music and so many people, it was really hard to have a conversation with anyone. Near the end of the ball, Chris asked her to go back to the common room after the ball, saying he had a present for her. "A present? Oh, Chris...you didn't have to do that!" She kissed him, wishing that this night would never end.
(LOL sorry - I know my post sucks too. It's hard to keep up with this thread with so many people!)

*Claire looked at Ben as he spoke.*
No, nothings going on, I'm fine. I'm sorry, but this heavy rock is giving me the worst headache. It's too loud, I need to go sit down.
*She smiled weakly at Ben, hoping he didn't feel as if he were missing out. She conjured a glass of water and a pill, and took them, sitting down at a table off to the side. The current band ended, but she didn't clap for him. A bass clarinetest came on and began to perform a beautiful piece by Bach. It calmed her and made her headache go away, or maybe that was the medication, she wasn't sure.*
Ok, I'm better, want to go dance again?
*She asked Ben,smiling brightly once again.*

I'm sure. The music, it was just way too loud. There's a reason I don't go to rock concerts.
*She sighed. Claire hadn't thought the Yule Ball would turn out to be a rock concert, and was glad that some normal dancing music had come on.*
Let's go, I'm fine, I promise!

As Riachnyn played the last note, she conjured up another piece of music, this time by Beethoven: Symphony #5. The silver mist had now floated off the stage and was slowly covering the floor around. The ivy still swayed to the rhythm, and the canopy was lit by a soft, white light.

((ooc: sorry for the utterly crappy post... i need to get to bed... =) ))
I guess I owe you now, don't I she heard Ian's words float out of his mouth. "Nah. I really thought you deserved it. And you obviously do. Good luck. It's actually not as hard as it seems to be. Well.. okay, sometimes it is.." she admitted and flashed him a joking grin. "Don't try too hard," she told him, "Or you'll get stressed out. That happened the first week when I had the jobs of captain and prefect, which I've learned to handle now," she said willing to give him this advice.
So what do you think of the music tonight? Lydia nodded her head as Ian spoke about the bands. "I know. They've been amazing! I agree with you about the whole.. concert thing," she said and chuckled softly at her idiotic explanation. "This is fun. We should hang out more often... I haven't seen you in a while," she told him. Hm. We could go to Hogsmeade... maybe invite Josi and some other people. That could be fun... she thought and decided to mention it a bit later.

Word of a Yule Ball got to Nixi, she couldn't resist now showing up, even though it was really late. Putting the finishing touches of her makeup, she slide on her maroon colored strapless dress. Looking at her self in the mirror, she smilied happily.
"I look wonderful!"
She said with a wink. Grabbing her matching beaded handbag and placeing a purplish tiara to complete her outfit along with maroom lace gloves, Nixi was ready to go. Walking gracefully out of the Common Room, she waved and said hello politely to all of the paintings along her way toward the Dance Hall.
"My, Don't you look all fancied up. Going to the Yule Ball I presume."
A painting of a handsome man in about his 20s said charmingly. She giggled and nodded her head.
"Why yes I am, but it appears I arrived to Hogwarts later then I expected and couldn't find a date."
Nixi said with a sigh. The man in the portrait chuckled.
"No need to fear my dear! You are beautiful and I'm sure a youg gentlemen would love to ask a young lady, as yourself, to a dance!"
Smiling, she thanked the man and hurried off toward the Dance Hall. Once arriving infont of the doors, she pushed them open and walked in elegantly.
The Nymph scanned the room for any attractive men, before walking over to a girl, dressed in a pink dress talking to the Muggle Studies Professor.
"Hello, My name is Nixi Bell Waters. pleasure to meet you."
Her voice sweet as ever, trying to make a good impression toward the Professor. She held out her silky pale hand for the girl and teacher to shake.

Ian smiled, a bit of his shyness returning to him as she advised him not to get too stressed about his newfound position, and he quietly told her, "Yeah, I don't let it get to my head, I try not to think about it so much, then again that could be seen as a bad thing of "Neglecting" my duties. It's kind of annoying though because everybody tries to act all perfect around you when I wouldn't dock points from them anyways. However, thanks for the info, I'll keep it in mind."
Ian bobbed his head in both tune with the dance and agreement with Lydia's comment that they should hang out more, and he playfully asked her, "So, where would we hang out? I mean, we could go a lot of places, the lake is always nice, or Hogsmeade when we actually get to go. Or, we could even just have a party in the common room or something, what do you think?"
Ian noticed that the song was ending and he slightly regretfully took his hands off Lydia as he gave her a hug, and asked her, "Do you wanna go grab a drink or something? I owe Azlen and Josi a dance, but I'm so dizzy I need to get something to drink first."
Ooc: Lydia I'm really sorry I ended it I just really do owe them....<_< Yeah the Hogsmeade thing would be cool, and let's just say I owe you for cutting our dance short, ok? ;D

Lydia smiled as Ian spoke and she nodded in agreement when he said about people acting perfect around them. "I know. It's really annoying sometimes. Like I know I am supposed to be in charge.. but I'm still a teenager, I like to have fun too!" she replied. So, where would we hang out? I mean, we could go a lot of places, the lake is always nice, or Hogsmeade when we actually get to go. Or, we could even just have a party in the common room or something, what do you think?
"Well.." she thought back to her first thoughts, "I was thinking Hogsmeade could be cool. And we could even invite other people if you want." she added. "But also..." she started and hushed her voice a little, "It would be kind of cool to have a party in the common room.. you know, after the ball," she said and smiled. "I mean, who says the party has to stop when the music stops down here?"
She heard the song dying down and she hugged Ian back. Well at least I know I got my one dance... she thought and smiled. Do you wanna go grab a drink or something? I owe Azlen and Josi a dance, but I'm so dizzy I need to get something to drink first. "Yeah. I'm kind of dizzy too," she admitted. Lydia walked over to the refreshments table on the side of the room. She picked up a bottle of water and took a few big gulps. She chuckled at herself, "Sorry.. I get thirsty.." she said, a bit embarrased.
((ooc: that's okay. i know you owe them a dance... i was thinking of ending it soon anyways . okay.. i guess you owe me now then.. hogsmeade sounds good.))

Nixi smiles, fixing her glove that was lose. She looks at Keisha and smirks.
"By any chance are you in Slytherin?"
She laughed, then thinking she might of sounded rude, she quickly added to her question.
"Because all Slytherins seem to look alike, they seem to stand out and can easily be told that they look like a Slytherin."

Ian grinned as Lydia agreed that Hogsmeade would be a good place to go, and Ian added, "You know, we could always just have a party after the Yule Ball AND go and hang out in Hogsmeade, it gives you more time to have fun. And I don't mind drinking quickly, I'm probabley going to be much more rude then you." Lazily conjuring a pop, he slammed it down in a few seconds before turning back to Lydia and he told her, "Hey, I gotta go, I'll see you later! Owl me when you want to hang out!"
As he waved goodbye to Lydia, his eyes fell upon Azlen, and he grinned: She looked absoutely beautiful, and he couldn't resist asking her to dance. Even though she wasn't supposed to come, she came anyways, even without a date. Ian had never felt this proud of somebody in his life, and as he walked up to her he became concious, once again of how grubby he must look. As he gave her a quick hug, he held his hand out and asked her, "Look, I know I'm not supposed to do this, but would you care to have a dance with me? Josi's busy and you look too lonely for your own good." Grinning now, he hoped that Azlen had caught onto the playful quality in his voice as he waited for her response.
